Ingredients for Cbd caramel sauce
200 g caster sugar
120 ml double cream
45 g unsalted butter, cut into pieces
5 ml vanilla extract
2.5 g kosher salt
180 mg CBD oil
How to make Cbd caramel sauce
Heat sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat without stirring, until it begins to melt and turns golden brown around the edges.
Use a heatproof spatula to gently stir the melted sugar into the unmelted sugar and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until all the sugar has melted and the caramel reaches a deep amber colour, about 5 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and carefully add the cream to the caramel, stirring constantly (the mixture will bubble vigorously and seize).
Add the butter and stir until melted, then mix in the vanilla and salt.
Allow the caramel to cool slightly for about 5 minutes, then vigorously stir in the CBD oil until the mixture is emulsified.
Transfer the caramel to an airtight container and let it cool completely.
The caramel can be prepared up to 2 weeks in advance. Cover and chill until needed. Reheat gently over low heat before use.
