Ingredients for Instant Pot hard-boiled eggs

  • 240 ml water

  • 12 large eggs, straight from the refrigerator

How to make Instant Pot hard-boiled eggs

  1. Pour the water into the Instant Pot and place a steamer basket or the trivet inside.

  2. Gently arrange up to 12 eggs in the basket or on top of the trivet, ensuring not to crack the eggs as you add them.

  3. Secure the lid and set the Pressure Release to Sealing.

  4. Select the Manual setting and set the cooking time for 5 minutes at high pressure.

  5. While the eggs are cooking, prepare an ice bath by filling a bowl with cold water and ice.

  6. When the timer goes off, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes, then switch the Pressure Release to Venting to release any remaining steam.

  7. Open the pot and transfer the eggs to the ice bath to cool completely.

  8. Peel the eggs when ready to serve.

  9. For a softer yolk, repeat steps 1 to 8, but set the cooking time for 2 minutes at high pressure, allowing the pressure to release naturally for 15 minutes before venting.
