Taking Accrete D3 (calcium and vitamin D3) with furosemide can lead to a build-up of calcium in your blood, a condition called hypercalcaemia. It can also make your furosemide less effective at removing excess fluid from your body.

Why this happens
Furosemide is a 'water pill' that usually helps the kidneys get rid of calcium. However, vitamin D (in Accrete D3) increases how much calcium your body absorbs. If the balance is off, calcium levels can rise too high. Additionally, high calcium levels can sometimes interfere with how well furosemide works to reduce swelling or lower blood pressure.
What you should do
Back to contentsYou should speak to your doctor before taking these together. They may want to monitor your blood calcium levels and kidney function regularly. If you experience symptoms of high calcium—such as feeling very thirsty, needing to urinate more often, nausea, constipation, or unusual tiredness—contact your GP.

Taking fluoxetine with Abilify (aripiprazole) can significantly increase the amount of Abilify in your bloodstream. This makes you much more likely to experience side effects such as extreme sleepiness, restlessness (feeling like you cannot sit still), uncontrollable body movements (tremors or twitching), and dizziness. There is also a small but serious risk of a heart rhythm problem called QT prolongation.
