Both Royal Sun (Agaricus blazei) and Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) are medicinal mushrooms that can stimulate the immune system. Taking them together may lead to an overactive immune response. Additionally, both may have mild blood-thinning effects and could lower blood sugar levels.

Why this happens
These mushrooms contain beta-glucans which activate various immune cells (like natural killer cells and macrophages). Because they both work on similar pathways, their effects can add together (additive effect). They may also interfere with how blood clots and how the body processes glucose.
What you should do
If you have an autoimmune condition (like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis), are taking blood-thinning medication (like warfarin), or take medicine for diabetes, speak to your doctor before combining these supplements. If you are scheduled for surgery, stop taking both at least two weeks beforehand.
