Pistachio and Dried-Fruit Haroseth

This pistachio and dried-fruit haroseth offers a sophisticated, jewel-toned twist on a Passover essential. Unlike traditional versions that rely heavily on apples and walnuts, this recipe uses a vibrant blend of toasted pistachios, honey-soaked dates and tart dried cherries. The addition of pomegranate juice and citrus zest provides a bright, acidic balance to the rich spices, creating a complex flavour profile that works beautifully as a festive condiment.

As a versatile vegan-friendly dish, this haroseth is also naturally gluten-free and packed with healthy fats and fibre. It can be prepared up to twenty-four hours in advance, allowing the dried fruits to soften and the aromatic cinnamon and nutmeg to fully infuse. Serve it as part of a traditional Seder meal or enjoy it as a sweet, nutty topping for breakfast yoghurt.
