This authentic carne asada is a vibrant, high-protein dish that brings the smoky flavours of a traditional Mexican grill to your table. By charring fresh poblano chillies and spring onions alongside the beef, you create a depth of flavour that perfectly complements the rich, savoury notes of the garlic-rubbed steak. It is an ideal choice for summer entertaining or a nutritious weekend dinner, offering a balance of lean protein and healthy fats from the fresh avocado.
Preparing this dish is straightforward and relies on quality ingredients and high heat to achieve the best results. The skirt steak is prized for its intense flavour and becomes incredibly tender when sliced across the grain after resting. Serve these succulent strips of beef in warm tortillas with a generous squeeze of lime and plenty of fresh salsa for a wholesome, homemade meal that everyone will enjoy.
