Taking danazol while you are on amlodipine can cause the levels of amlodipine in your blood to rise. This can lead to an increased risk of side effects, such as feeling dizzy, getting a headache, or experiencing swelling in your ankles (oedema). It may also cause your blood pressure to drop lower than intended.

Why this happens
Amlodipine is broken down in the liver by a specific enzyme (CYP3A4). Danazol interferes with this process by blocking the enzyme, which means the amlodipine stays in your system longer and reaches higher levels than normal.
What you should do
You should speak to your doctor before taking these two medicines together. Your doctor may need to monitor your blood pressure more closely or adjust your dose of amlodipine while you are taking danazol. If you feel unusually dizzy or faint, contact your healthcare provider.
