Taking these two medicines together may increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia). While tramadol is a painkiller and metformin is for diabetes, tramadol has been linked to drops in blood sugar levels, which could add to the effect of your diabetes medication.

Why this happens
Tramadol can sometimes lower blood sugar levels by changing how the body uses glucose or by increasing insulin sensitivity. When combined with metformin, this can occasionally lead to blood sugar levels falling too low.
What you should do
You can usually take these together, but you should monitor your blood sugar levels more closely, especially when starting tramadol or changing your dose. Learn to recognise signs of 'hypos' (such as sweating, shaking, hunger, or dizziness). If you experience frequent low blood sugar, contact your doctor as they may need to adjust your medication.

Can I take Esomeprazole and Magnesium together?
Taking esomeprazole for a long time (usually more than three months) can lower the levels of magnesium in your blood. This can lead to symptoms like tiredness, muscle spasms, or an irregular heartbeat. Additionally, if you take magnesium as an antacid or supplement at the same time as esomeprazole, it might slightly interfere with how well the medicine is absorbed.

Bisoprolol and Trimbow (which contains formoterol) work in opposite ways on the airways.
