These homemade garlic and dill pickles are a kitchen staple for anyone who loves a sharp, savoury crunch. This vegan-friendly recipe uses fresh pickling cucumbers, fragrant dill, and pungent garlic to create a classic deli-style snack that is far superior to shop-bought alternatives. The balance of acidity from the white vinegar and the kick from the fresh cloves ensures a vibrant flavour that develops beautifully over time.
Ideal as a snappy side dish or a topping for plant-based burgers, these pickles are remarkably easy to prepare. This method is perfect for those new to preserving, as it uses simple pantry ingredients and basic water-bath canning techniques. Whether you are harvesting a glut of garden cucumbers or simply want to stock your larder, these jars provide a healthy, low-calorie way to add a burst of acidity to your favourite meals.
