There is no significant interaction between atorvastatin and candesartan. These two medicines are very commonly prescribed together to manage heart health and blood pressure.

Why this happens
Atorvastatin and candesartan are processed by different pathways in the body. Atorvastatin is primarily broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, while candesartan is not significantly processed by this system. They do not interfere with each other's absorption or excretion.
What you should do
You can safely take these medicines together as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually best to take them at the same time each day to help you remember. Always inform your doctor if you experience unusual muscle pain or weakness, which is a general side effect of statins, but not caused by taking it with candesartan.
