This requirement aims to enhance patient access and alleviate pressure on telephone systems. Evidence suggests that practices adopting this approach have experienced significant reductions in telephone wait times and increased patient satisfaction. For instance, Blackmore Vale Partnership reported an average wait time drop from 11 minutes to just one minute.

To assist practices in meeting the new contract requirements, NHS England has made available resources, including preguntas frecuentes, estudios de caso, and a comprehensive aide memoir. Webinars discussing practical implementation strategies have also been recorded and can be accessed for review: 6 August, 4 September, y 11 September.
