The Crisis Team ( Rotherham).

My recent and ongoing experience with the Rotherham Crisis Team has been troubling and has demonstrated a lack of empathy, and their active listening skills and basic understanding of my mental health needs are disturbing. They are failing to adequately provide even the basic level of care, such as compassion and effective support.

When I reach out for their support, I’m either fobbed off at the hospital, dismissed, or when I ring them, I get the impression that all the team wants to do is terminate the call as soon as possible, rather than genuinely engage with me.

The Rotherham Crisis Team is intended to be a vital lifeline for people experiencing a mental health crisis. Based on my personal experience with the team, it leaves me with the impression that this service is a toxic environment for vulnerable people suffering from a mental health crisis and is putting vulnerable people’s lives at risk from serious harm and suffering.
