Whole-Wheat Peanut Butter Waffles

These whole-wheat peanut butter waffles offer a wholesome and satisfying twist on a classic breakfast favourite. By using whole-wheat flour, you create a deeper, nuttier base that perfectly complements the rich, savoury notes of the peanut butter. This vegetarian recipe is designed to produce waffles with a crisp exterior and a light, fluffy centre, making them a brilliant choice for a slow weekend brunch or a protein-rich start to the day.

Packed with hearty ingredients, this dish is versatile enough to suit various toppings, from a traditional drizzle of maple syrup to a sharp compote of seasonal berries. Because the batter is substantial, it holds up well to generous heapings of Greek yoghurt or sliced banana. This simple, homemade method ensures a consistent result every time, providing a nutritious alternative to shop-bought mixes.
