This authentic Dominican chimichurri burger is a vibrant departure from the classic cheeseburger. A staple of Caribbean street food, these high-protein burgers are celebrated for their deeply seasoned beef patties and a unique crunch provided by a quick-sautéed cabbage slaw. Unlike the Argentinian herb sauce of the same name, the Dominican 'chimi' relies on a savoury blend of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and a tangy mayonnaise-based dressing to deliver its signature punchy flavour.
Ideal for an easy weekend dinner or a nutritious midweek meal, this dish replaces processed toppings with fresh vegetables like charred tomatoes and crisp red onions. The combination of aromatic coriander and oregano infused into the minced beef ensures every bite is succulent and aromatic. Serve these stacked high in toasted buns for a satisfying, homemade takeaway experience that the whole family will enjoy.

Oil griddle again, then sear onion and tomato, turning once, until slightly charred, about 2 minutes total. Divide among burgers.
