Why this happens

Omega-3 fatty acids help prevent blood cells (platelets) from sticking together, while curcumin (the active part of turmeric) can also slow down blood clotting. When used together, these effects can add up, making your blood take longer to clot.

For most healthy people, taking standard doses of both is usually fine. However, you should be cautious if you notice unusual bruising, frequent nosebleeds, or bleeding gums. Stop taking both at least two weeks before any scheduled surgery or dental work. If you are already taking prescribed blood thinners (like warfarin or aspirin), speak to your doctor before combining these supplements.
