Can I take Entresto and Flecainide together?

Why this happens

Entresto is a combination of sacubitril and valsartan. Valsartan can increase potassium levels in the blood. Flecainide is very sensitive to potassium levels; if potassium becomes too high or too low, flecainide can become toxic or stop working correctly, potentially causing dangerous heart rhythms. Additionally, both drugs can lower blood pressure, leading to an additive effect that might cause dizziness or fainting.

You must speak to your doctor before taking these together. If prescribed both, your doctor will likely perform regular blood tests to check your kidney function and potassium levels. They may also perform an ECG (heart trace) to monitor your heart rhythm. Seek medical help immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, or notice a fluttering or irregular heartbeat.
