Can I take Eliquis and Levothyroxine together?

Why this happens

These drugs are processed by different pathways in the body. Eliquis is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) that works on clotting factors, while levothyroxine is a synthetic hormone that replaces thyroid hormone. They do not interfere with how each other is absorbed, broken down, or excreted.

You can continue to take both medications as prescribed by your doctor. It is important to have regular blood tests to monitor your thyroid levels (TSH), as significant changes in thyroid function can occasionally affect how your body responds to blood thinners, though this is not a direct drug-to-drug interaction.
