Taking CBD oil with amitriptyline can increase the amount of amitriptyline in your blood. This makes side effects more likely, such as extreme sleepiness, dry mouth, blurred vision, and dizziness. It may also increase the risk of a rare but serious heart rhythm problem.

Why this happens
Both substances are processed by the same enzymes in the liver (specifically CYP2C19 and CYP3A4). CBD can 'block' these enzymes, slowing down how quickly your body breaks down the amitriptyline. Additionally, both substances have a calming effect on the brain, which can lead to excessive drowsiness when used together.
What you should do
