Why this happens

Edoxaban is moved out of the body by a 'pump' protein called P-glycoprotein. Amiodarone blocks this pump, which means less edoxaban is removed and the levels in your bloodstream rise.

You must inform your doctor if you are taking both. In many cases, the dose of edoxaban needs to be reduced (usually to 30mg instead of 60mg) when taken with amiodarone to prevent the risk of bleeding. Watch for signs of unusual bleeding or bruising and seek medical advice if they occur.
