Why this happens

Both medications have a calming effect on the central nervous system. When used together, these effects are added together (an additive effect), making you much more tired than if you took either one alone.

Use this combination with caution. If you decide to take both, do so only at bedtime. Avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require full alertness until you know how this combination affects you. If you feel excessively groggy the next morning, speak to your doctor about adjusting the dose.
