Drug interaction guide

Why this happens

Zopiclone is broken down in the liver by a specific enzyme (CYP3A4). Quercetin can block this enzyme from working properly. Because the enzyme is blocked, the body cannot get rid of the zopiclone as quickly as usual, leading to higher levels of the drug in your system.

It is best to avoid taking quercetin supplements while you are using zopiclone. If you must take both, speak to your doctor first. You should be very cautious and monitor yourself for increased drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel more tired than usual.
