Can I take 2.5mg and Glucophage together?

There is no known interaction between Eliquis (apixaban) and Glucophage (metformin). They work in different ways and do not interfere with how the body processes each other.

Why this happens

Eliquis is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) that works on blood clotting factors, while Glucophage is an antidiabetic medication that lowers blood sugar. They are broken down by different pathways in the liver and kidneys, meaning they do not compete for absorption or excretion.

You can safely take these two medicines together as prescribed by your doctor. However, always monitor for general side effects. If you notice unusual bruising or bleeding (from Eliquis) or persistent stomach upset (from Glucophage), contact your healthcare provider.
