Why this happens

Both medicines work to lower blood pressure and slow the heart rate, but they do so in different ways. Amlodipine (the 2mg or 5mg part of your combined pill) relaxes blood vessels, while nebivolol is a beta-blocker that slows the heart. When used together, their effects add up, which can sometimes lower your heart rate or blood pressure more than intended.

You should only take these together if specifically prescribed by your doctor. When starting this combination or changing the dose, be careful when standing up from a sitting or lying position, as you may feel dizzy. If you feel very faint, have a very slow pulse, or experience shortness of breath, contact your doctor. It is best to avoid or strictly limit alcohol, as it can increase the blood-pressure-lowering effect and make dizziness worse.
